The big question for even the most prepared big event planner is, “Where is everyone going to stay?” That’s definitely a good question but local hotels, rental agencies and resorts are always prepared to provide a helping hand, and possibly some discounts depending on the season and the size of your event party.
           
There are many options for accommodations in Eastern North Carolina, including but not limited to resorts, private waterfront or water view rental homes, hotels or beautiful bed and breakfasts. Try the helpful tips below and ask for discount options when it comes to accommodating a large number of out-of-town guests.

Call or email area hotels, resorts and rental agencies to get information on reservations and group discounts. Group rates tend to be based on availability, so book your reservations (or have guests book their reservations) as early as possible. Another option is to request blocking off a certain number of rooms for guests you are certain will be coming to the event. Also to keep in mind, if you plan your celebration in the off-season, hotel prices and private home rentals are usually dramatically lower, especially in waterfront locations.

Another option is to let guests choose for themselves. Provide incoming guests with a list of recommended accommodations and also information on where the wedding party will be staying. Make sure everyone coming from out of town has accurate information about the date, time and especially the location of your event as they will probably want to stay as close as possible.

Take into consideration the idea of having your wedding reception or event at the hotel, resort or beach house where the majority of event participants will be staying. Following a celebration, it’s very convenient if guests can just retire upstairs rather than have to drive back to their accommodations.
