There are many options available for entertaining guests at receptions and other big events. Probably the most popular is a disc jockey who provides an array of music spanning all tastes and age groups. Other options include live bands, classical performers, acoustic performers and more.
           
For a wedding reception, your entertainment or disc jockey should be able to provide social hour music. Also for a wedding reception, the bride and groom should pre-select music for the following:

 

·         bride and groom’s first dance

·         wedding party dance

·         father and bride’s dance

·         mother and groom’s dance

·         plus songs for the cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss and perhaps
    even a special song to recognize the bride and groom’s grandparents.

 

Communicate with your entertainment provider on the style of music you would like for your special occasion and/or special song requests. Also let them know about the location of your event and any electrical or acoustical challenges that may need to be addressed prior to the event date.
